Teaching and Research
Xiao-Xiang Wang joined the School of materials science and engineering, Zhejiang University in 1994 after finishing his Postdoctoral Fellowship. He gives courses of Biomedical Materials and Biomimetic Materials for the undergraduate students.
He researches in biomedical materials including titanium and titanium alloys for dental and orthopaedic implant, titanium-nickel shape memory alloy for orthodontics and Au-based and Co-based dental restorative materials. The corrosion resistance, bioactivity and biocompatibility of those metallic biomaterials are his main research interests. Biomimetic coating of hydroxyapatite, nacre and other biominerals is another research interest in recent years.
